台北圓山飯店的牛排館在睽違市場22年後，終於又回來了！為讓舊雨重溫昔日在〈明哲廳〉（The Ming Grill）享受全台最正統與高檔牛排西餐的舊夢，更為了替飯店開拓新世代客源，圓山飯店斥資3,000萬元打造的〈圓山牛排館〉，終於將在本月28日正式開幕，全新的牛排館就位在圓山文館旁的閣樓，也就是昔日〈圓苑〉餐廳的地點。為打響開幕第一炮，即日起至4月27日止預約訂位，消費者即可享有當日用餐9折優惠，並加贈主廚特製Pizza一個。
成立於1952年的圓山大飯店是為接待友邦元首與各國政要而設，堪稱全台第一家五星級觀光飯店。為了讓駐台美軍顧問團成員與世界各國賓客，以及政商名流都能嘗到正統西式牛排，台北圓山飯店遂在1970年規畫14層樓的中國宮殿式建築時，決定在當時的新建築內規畫一牛排館並取了一個「聽來不像牛排館的名字」叫〈明哲廳〉（The Ming Grill）。1973年10月10日〈明哲廳〉正式開幕，這個生日和國慶日同一天的牛排館，當年可是全台最稱頭的牛排餐廳。
